Job content: Within agreed category parameters, to build and maintain close relationships with, and manage suppliers with regard to price negotiation, quality, and delivery deadlines, whilst keeping up to date with market trends to ensure competitive prices for the business.
Liaising with suppliers to ensure agreed quality and price standards are maintained together with delivering New product launches and component innovation.
To closely liaise with all functions within the business to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the department.
Within their specific area of responsibility. -
Complete responsibility for pricing and Supplier Management for their category range. -
Developing a relationship with the customer on material supply issues. -
Delivering innovation within customer and category responsibilities. -
Ensuring continuity of supply of all Raw Materials through the supply chain. -
Negotiate the best terms for the supply of raw materials and associated items. -
Regular benchmarking of suppliers to ensure most competitive prices achieved. -
Advising NPD of suppliers for new products, keeping within purchasing strategy. -
Reviews with suppliers ensuring Service, Quality, continuous improvements and costs are optimised. -
Submit proposals on budget prices each year. -
Deal with invoice discrepancies while driving towards zero queries. -
Provide monthly statistical report to Purchasing Manager -
Carry out administration work as required by the role. - Visit Suppliers, producing a report from each visit. -
Supplier selection ?
making proposals of New Suppliers to the Purchasing Manager covering service, quality, contingency plans, price and company stability.
